Andy Yue at Session 19

Andy Yue is a classically-trained pianist, visual artist and recording engineer who plays a wide range popular and unpopular musical styles on vintage electroacoustic and electronic keyboards and synthesizers. He is a composer for film and dance and has enjoyed the good fortune of performing with many well-known and unknown musical artists. Notable collaborations have included performances with William Parker, Hamid Drake, Fred Frith, John Oswald, Paul Dutton and Michael Snow. Andy is a member of the improvising trio ‘Odradek’ with Michelangelo Iaffaldano and James Bailey. This group is celebrating its tenth year of existence in 2013. Andy is also one half of ‘PWM’, a duo with Jonathan Adjemian in which both artists perform on vintage Korg MS-20 analog synthesizers. Their second album is being prepared for release this year. Another major project is the ‘Happenings’ trio with Jim Sexton and Mark Zurawinski. The trio is recording its debut in October of 2013. Andy also performs with psychedelic jam band The Starfires.
