Glare – Experimental Turntable Workshop 1

Mike Hansen is a Toronto based artist, performer and radio personality and has been involved in the Canadian improvised music scene for over a decade. As Mike Hansen is a turntablist born out of the school of Marclay, Tetreault and Jeck, Hansen disembowels the turntable. Sounds are chosen at random, slowed down, ripped apart and manually looped. All aspects of the record player are fair game.

Steptone aka EriK T Laar is one half if InsideAMind. Their sound is often described as “listening to a movie” and their cinematic sensibilities have been geared towards 4 successful releases as well as soundtracking films, television, and theatrical performances. Some past shows and venues played include: Nuit Blanche, The World Wide Short Film Festival, Toronto Fringe Festival, TIFF Bell Lightbox, Metro Hall, The Music Gallery, San Francisco Asian Arts Museum and the Royal Ontario Museum to name a few. iNSiDEaMiND has received grants from the Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council and the Canadian Arts Council.
