Time to Leave

Time to Leave by Marjan Mozetich
Time To Leave was composed in March 1997 for Arraymusics’s Miniature concert. The stipulation was to write a short work no longer than 3 min. The harmonic structure and the melodic fragments are loosely based on an operatic vignette composed for a workshop earlier that year.

The scene, set in a rural train station, deals with a farmer and his son who sing their personal thoughts about the son leaving home. An alternate title was a Prairie Passion. Of course in this version all is expressed instrumentally. – Marjan Mozetich
