Denge by Christopher Willis – YCW 2018

Started in 1987, Arraymusic’s Young Composers Workshop is one of the oldest programs of its kind in Canada. It is singular in what it offers: Led by Array’s Artistic Director/Workshop Leader and Array’s Ensemble members, each season Arraymusic puts out a call for scores to be submitted (international composers are welcome to submit) and selects (by a professional jury) at least four emerging composers to participate. These four are given the rare opportunity to gain professional training and performances by members of The Array Ensemble. Participants work directly with Arraymusic’s Artistic Director/Workshop Leader to compose a new work over the course of a month, which is then performed in concert.
